Paintball Equipment
JT goggles, Profilers, Proto masks, Crossfire bottles, Pure Energy, Vlocity, HaloB, RevvyXboard! You need this equipment and more to play paintball with the big boys! Here’s how to sort it out!
Guns are just one of the many things you’ll need to play paintball. Equipment like goggles, air tanks, and loaders are the most basic equipment needed for paintball. At Bodysport, we actually have testers checking out all the gear we sell and we list the information they have learned so that you the paintballer have a true source of real information about the equipment you need.
The first consideration when looking for paintball equipment is the paintball mask (sometimes called paintball goggles). You MUST have a good thermal goggle system. Thermals are more expensive but they stay fog-free, which means you can see your hapless paintball victims and shoot them instead of being fogged in and getting shot up. The next item to buy is an air supply, either old school CO2 or the new high tech HPA. CO2 has a better shot count, but is less consistent in performance in hot or cold weather, and can’t be used in some guns. HPA stands for high pressure air. HPA is also called compressed air or sometimes nitro because of its early history in scuba dive shops. The last piece of equipment you’ll need is a paintball hopper (also called a loader or feeder), to feed your gun its ration of paintballs. They come in three speeds, fast, medium and slow. Most people can get by with medium speed, which is still plenty fast. We’ll try and help you get the right equipment for your paintball game style and playing level.
